Here is my fourth card using Hunkydory Crafts Stylish Season cardmaking kit. This kit must be pretty popular because it sold out at Paper Wishes and Hunkydory Craft’s website. This card was inspired by the image of a Victorian woman on the cover of a catalog. The woman was carrying a muff and I thought that the muff was an interesting design. So, I came up with a card design inspired by a muff.
- Light yellow cardstock: (1) 9 x 7 inch rectangle; (2) 1 ½ x 5 inch strips
- Remaining pieces of light gold Adorable Scorable cardstock and paper
- (2) 5 x 1 ½ inch strip of green suede paper
- Want 2 Scrap small green pearls
- Small gift die cut
- Hot Off the Press Christmas Cheer stamp set
- Scrap of ivory or cream colored cardstock, approximately 2 ½ x 3 inches
- Dark green inkpad
- Sheer gold ribbon, at least 12 inches in length
- Foam squares
- Corner rounder punch
Fold the 9 x 7 inch yellow cardstock rectangle in half, making a 4 ½ x 7 inch card base. With the fold of the card at the top, cut 1 ½ inches off of each side, leaving a 4 x 4 ½ inch rectangle on the front of the card. Cover the inside of the card with the light gold scalloped paper.
Using the corner punch, round the corners of each of the 1 ½ strips. Glue the green suede paper strips to the yellow strips, round the corners of the green suede paper. Attach the ribbon to the green strips. Glue the ribbon down on the center of the green suede paper using whatever glue works for you. Secure the ends of the ribbon behind the yellow strips and glue the suede paper/cardstock strips to the right and left sides of the inside of the card. The green strips should frame the middle front flap.
Glue a 4 x 4 ½ piece of the light gold Adorable to the front flap of the card. Place foam dots on the back of the gift die-cut and attach it to the center of the front flap. Attach small green pearls to the center of the printed bows on the Adorable Scorable. This gives a quilted effect to the top.
Place a large green pearl in the center of the ribbon on both of the green border strips, add the middle size green pearl on top and below the large green pearl. Using the “Merry Christmas” stamp from the Christmas Cheer Stamp set with dark green ink, stamp on the scrap of ivory cardstock. Round the corners and ink the edges of the cardstock with the green ink. Glue to the middle of the inside of the card.
I have two die-cuts and a die cut border left from the sheet of die-cuts, scraps of the paper and cardstock from the first four cards, and one sheet of purple foiled Adorable Scorable. How many more cards can I make from what is left? Well, at least one more. Card #5 coming soon!
The green suede paper that I have been using for these cards is paper that I have had for many years. I have been using a 6 x 12 inch leftover piece. There are likely to be many sources of suede paper, but I do know that Paper Wishes does have forest green suede paper in stock. www.paperwishes.com
