Card Number 6 from my Personal Challenge

I hope that you have been following my progress to see how many Christmas Cards I can make from Hunkydory Crafts Stylish Season: Pretty Presents card making set. I bought a huge set (estimate is that at least 20 cards could be made from this kit) which has 50 sheets of die-cuts, paper and cardstock. Unfortunately, this kit has sold out both on www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk and www.paperwishes.com (which is where I purchased this kit). If you live in the UK you can purchase just the Pretty Presents kit, which includes one sheet of die-cuts and two sheets of Adorable Scorable. It does not include the two printed paper card inserts that match the Adorable Scorable  http://www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk/acatalog/Stylish-Season-Topper-Set—Pretty-Presents-STYLE909.html#SID=2

At this point, what I have left are:  two die-cuts;  part of a die-cut garland border strip;  one foiled purple and star die-cut border strip; half a sheet of foiled purple Adorable Scorable; and scraps of green suede paper. For card number six, I will be using most of what is left of the foiled purple Adorable Scorable, scraps of green suede paper, the candles die-cut, the remaining strip of the garland border die-cut, the Christmas Cheer stamp set and Gold Thin Border Dazzles from Hot Off the Press.

Materials Used:

  • Purple cardstock for the card base, 7 x 10 inches , additional 3 x 3 inch square
  • Purple Foiled Adorable Scorable, 5 x 6 inch rectangle with the border on the bottom
  • Remaining pieces of light gold Adorable Scorable cardstock
  • Green suede paper: 1 x 5 inch strip; 2 ½ x 4 ¾ inch rectangle; and ¾ x 7 inch strip
  • Purple candles  die cut
  • Hot Off the Press Christmas Cheer stamp set
  • Hot Off the Press Gold Thin Border Dazzles
  • Versamark ink pad
  • White embossing powder
  • Sheer gold ribbon, at least 12 inches in length
  • Foam squares
  • Heat gun
  • Glue

Score and fold the 7 x 10 inch purple cardstock to make a 5 x 7 inch card base. Glue the 5 x 6 purple foiled Adorable Scorable rectangle so that the border design is at the bottom of the card. Mad a 5 inch strip of the garland border die-cut on the 1 x 5 inch strip of green suede paper. Glue this to the top of the card. The border strip at the top and bottom coordinate.

About 1 inch below the matted garland strip, glue the 2 ½ x 4 ¾ inch green suede rectangle. Frame this suede rectangle with thin gold border Dazzles, you will need about 3 strips that match. Make a bow from the gold ribbon. Mount foam squares to the back of the candles die-cut and place it so that it is centered on the green suede rectangle, leaving enough room for the gold ribbon bow.

On the inside of the card, glue the ¾ x 7 inch strip of green suede paper vertically down the middle of the card. Use thin gold border Dazzles to frame the green suede “ribbon.” Select the “Magic of Christmas” stamp from the Christmas Cheer stamp set and stamp on the 3 inch purple square using Versamark. Sprinkle white embossing powder and use the heat gun to emboss the sentiment. Mat this square on any scraps of the light gold Adorable Scorable that are large enough and glue to the center of the inside of the card.

I have just enough scraps to make one more card, and this one will have a twist.
