Revisiting my most viewed blog

I just read my WordPress blog statistics for 2014, and the interesting fact is that one of the first blogs I wrote, in 2013,  was my most viewed blog. This is a blog about making a Hunkydory Crafts Dreams of Spring Rocking Card. This card kit is still available from http://www.paperwishes.com. This is not, however, a tutorial for making an original rocking card. This is a big card, that came in an even bigger cardmaking kit. This was my introduction to Hunkydory.

The card kit comes with cards in pink, green, peach and lavender. If you want to view my original blog, here is the link: https://prettycolorful.wordpress.com/2013/07/13/following-directions-to-make-a-rocking-card-2/

Instead of Bows Use Paper

Christmas Paper Flowers

How about mixing up your gift wrapping. I decided to use paper flowers instead of bows this year. I really needed to use up more of my Christmas scrapbooking paper, so I thought that I would make flowers using my We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch board. What do you think? I used some of my paper from a couple years ago because I want to buy new. I really need to get rid of the old.  I stacked the small, xsmall and xxsmall flowers and still came up with 5 inch flowers. Just perfect for a package ornament. I added some of my old silk flowers and brads to give the flowers more “pop.”

If you have a Flower Punch Board, you might want to try this out to add a little more craftiness in wrapping your gifts. Obviously, you can use this technique for any other gift occasion. Think how a wedding gift would look, especially if you have some foiled paper.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Still Working on Christmas Gifts

joyI’m still quilting away, I only have 3 projects to make, but I’m pretty much down to the quilting. My mind is filling up with the various ways I want to quilt the projects. Which, by the way are all small ones.

I have decided that I have made enough Christmas cards, so I will be thinking of new cards to make as soon as I finish my little projects.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I’ve been sewing of late

downsize1I haven’t posted a blog in a while. I am working on some Christmas gifts. I remember how much I like sewing while I am sewing. But not so much when I have to cart everything into the living room, and then take it all down. The carting in of the table, chair, sewing machine, ironing board, etc. is not so bad. It’s just after I do about as much work as I have energy for that I realize I have to take it all down and put it away!

Such are the joys of a small house. For all the crafters out there, Happy Holiday Crafting!
