I had a lot of fun coming up with three different card designs using beautiful red dress die cuts that from a Hunkydory Crafts Christmas card kit that I bought last year. I put these cards up on my Etsy shop (prettycolorful) if anyone is interested in purchasing the cards. I am only shipping to the US because I had challenging experiences shipping overseas when I was selling stuff on Ebay. If I ever get to the point where I am selling a lot of things in my Etsy shop, and there are requests, I might consider shipping overseas.
I would post a link to the card kit if it was still available but it is sold out and out of stock. The red dress die cuts come from the “Stylish Season” luxury card kit, if anyone out there has this kit and would like ideas.
I started off with a traditional card, and I used the foiled “Adorable Scorable” cardstock that had the dress printed on it, and used the paper insert for the front of the card. I added tiny foil stickers and green rhinestones to give the front some sparkle. I used Hot Off the Press’s silver snowflake holographic cardstock to back my sentiment which is “Dear Santa, There’s naughty…” and continuing on the inside “and then there’s NAUGHTY!”
For the next card, I used Hot Off the Press’s heart swing die-cut card base, and some bright red paper and green printed holly paper that comes from previous Christmas scrapbook paper sets. I can’t remember which paper set these papers come from, but some of the paper on this card does come from Hot Off the Press’s “Christmas Sweets” set. When I first saw this set of die-cuts, the song “Santa Baby” ran through my brain. So this card says “Santa Baby” on the front and “been an awfully good girl” on the inside. As usual, I added Dazzle stickers to accent the front of the card and the heart “swing” portion of the card.
My final card uses Hot Off the Press’s side step die card blank, and the same papers that I used on the heart swing card. I added a green ribbon to the front of the card, with a nice little bow. The oval dress die-cut came in three sections, I used the center silver frame to frame the words on the inside that say “Styles come and go, but Christmas is always in fashion.”
For the curious, I use Hot Off the Press products a lot, mostly because I used their papers and cardmaking kits when I first started making cards in the late 1990s. Also, they have a very generous Angel Policy so I can sell the cards I make. Hunkydory also has the same generous Angel Policy, and their products are exquisite and excellent quality. I can mix and match papers and cardstock from both companies and come with some nice stuff, if I say so myself. Want2Scrap has really fun rhinestone accents that go beautifully with the foiling on Hunkydory’s paper.
